Rollrights: Guardians of the Corn by Flick Merauld

Rollright Stones, Oxfordshire, UK

The mysterious Rollright Stones comprise a Neolithic stone circle in the heart of wheat fields in the Cotswold Hills. The "otherworldly" energies there are enduring and tangible. The circle is linked with the growth cycle, the crops and the eight ancient festivals, which correspond to points on our modern calendar, such as Yule and Easter. As a point of additional interest and concern, the yellow paint was daubed onto the stones by an idiot as an April Fool joke; the Rollright Trust are still trying to remove the paint without destroying the lichen colonies on the stones.
