SHELTON, CT - At 2:15pm on April 18, the Shelton Fire Department was dispatched to 172 Nell’s Rock Road for a structure fire. First units on scene found fire in a two-story ranch style home that appeared to have originated from the wiring in a central air-conditioning unit at the rear of the house. The fire quickly spread up the back of the house and into the attic. The fire then ran through the whole attic space. The fire took two hours to put under control, and three firefighters were injured. They were taken to Griffin Hospital and released later that evening. A live-in nanny and a 3-year-old child escaped the house without injury when the nanny saw the smoke coming from the rear of the structure.
According to the Connecticut Post article on 4/20/05, "Mitch Marcinauskis (brother of the homeowner) said everything in the house was destroyed and the family could use some help, including the donation of adult clothing." They are all set with children's clothing.
