SHELTON, CT - At approximately 2:30pm on September 8, both the Shelton and Derby Fire Departments were dispatched along with several police dive teams for the reported drowning at Indian Wells State Park on the Housatonic River. Shortly after the arrival of Derby’s Marine 1, Captain Dave Lenart located the victim in about 12 feet of water. The 22-year-old male was brought on shore and resuscitation efforts began. Unfortunately, the victim was later pronounced dead at Bridgeport Hospital.
