SHELTON, CT - On March 19 at 10:40am, Shelton Companies 3, 5, and 1 were dispatched to 8 Copper Penny Lane for a structure fire. The first in officer reported a 2 ½ story wood frame with heavy fire showing from the top floor. Due to the heavy volume of fire, as well as an early collapse of the top floor, command called for a defensive operation. All occupants were reported to be out of the structure before fire units arrived on scene. Crews worked on scene for approximately three hours. Derby, Monroe, and Nichols Fire Departments provided station coverage during the incident. Cause of the fire is undetermined as of yet and is being investigated by the Shelton Fire Marshal’s Office.
