Living On Lake Erie

In 1992 we moved to a lakefront home on Lake Erie. No two days are ever the same, the view always changes. It can be a beautiful place to live, and it can be exciting, hostile and dangerous. We catch the full brunt of any storms. Sometimes you think the wind will never stop. But on those lazy, hazy days of summer, there is no better place to be.

From 1984-1988 we lived off of Lake Erie in Hamburg -- I agree entirely with the sentiments that there was never a dull day on the lake -- it always looked different @ day.

Back in the 60's,my babysitter had a cabin on the USS property. I use to just love to sit, and stare out at the lake. I especially loved to sit out at night, and watch the oar boats all lit-up.

brings tears to my eyes, these are just the way I remember growing up near the lake and near Buffalo, I now live in SE Florida and have been here for over 30 years but I remember well the Blizzard of 77, I was on the job then.

I grew up in Conneaut Ohio and, although I now live in Connecticut, I remember these scenes vividly. Thanks so much for posting them!

These Lake Erie pics made me reminisce about the old days at our 'cottage' on Lake Erie past Dunnville. We were there from'52 until the 90's when we had to let it go. What beautiful scenes. I remember the spout! Scared us half to death. God is good and gives us much to be grateful for even when we are the last member of the family. Thanks to you.

Thank you for the lovely pictures of Lake Erie - I enjoyed looking at them - as a transplanted New Yorker living in California, I have never forgotten our beach cottage on Lake Erie. It is unfortunate we cannot return & find places as they once were!
