This was the fender badge for the Studebaker 230, a 6-cylinder engine. Towards the end of Studebaker's corporate life, they really cut the engineers loose; they came up with supercharged V8's, among other innovations. They were always ahead of their time style wise, Raymond Lowey designed Hawks, the Avanti; some great cars.
