What a shame in Buffalo, with these beautiful Churches loosing their flock to the suburbs. Is there no interest in the metro area for people to want to live in interesting neighbourhoods with insightful architecture? I am spoiled living in downtown Toronto. Here, the city is booming, the place to be, while the suburbs are in decline. Buffalo has such stunning architecture. Not sure why the City does not spend more on advertising to downtown Torontonians re its great culture, orchestra, museums, architecture etc... We would bite in a minute.

I have to agree with both people on this post about St. Matt's. I lived on Stevens Ave for about 7 years and St. Matt's was my parish. The homes were beautiful...and beautifully maintained. I ride by my house on Stevens periodically...and am happy that my parents never saw it like that

I guess it's best my grandmother & grandfather are no longer around to see what has become of their beloved St. Matthews and their neighborhood. Their house on Zenner St. was so well maintained with a beautiful rose garden in the backyard. These pictures bring back a lot of wonderful memories.

It's so sad to see churches vacated. This church is now completely abandoned and the grounds decimated. The neighborhood is nothing short of a combat zone with residents who take no pride in cleaning up their neighborhood.
How sad Buffalo has become. It looks more and more like Beruit.
