The Ballroom's heyday was probably through the Big Band era, although towards the end, big name rock groups were occasionally booked.

I remember going to the Dance Hall to find young ladies to take a ride to the Point..
That was the life...Bay Beach.. walking to the park to ask for tickets from the people leaving on the Boat back to Buffalo..

That was the time when life was simple...easy and safe...

I saw Stan Kenton's band here. It was fantastic...crowded, everybody dancing on that great expanse of wooden floors. Maynard Ferguson was his trumpet player...he was about 17 years old then.

Guy Lombardo, Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, plus many more big names had gigs at this wonderful dance hall. Many adults would come only for a night of dancing regardless of the rides in the park. What ever happened to the simple life?

I grew up in Crystal Beach. My mother is 90 and she grew up in Crystal Beach. Some of the pictures are newer as I never was in the park after they started to charge a flat fee. The pictutrs bring back memories and jog my memory of lots of friends from the Beach, and the arcade.

I will always remember Chrystal beach from a little child on up , i stayed at my aunts summer home there every year. the BAllroom dancing and later rollerskating on beautiful summer nights. My first crush was at Chrystal beach . what fun I had, and how safe it was then.

I remember that it was used as a roller rink for a few years.
