With a boat jaunt across the river, one can escape modern stifling Bangkok and its daunting traffic jams, to find a piece of the old ways still going on in the narrow alleys of Thonburi, the first incarnation of the Capital before it sprawled to both sides of the river. Here, elders and youngers are lazying around, in what used to be an old european neighborood, not far from the river.
