These are just a few of the photos I captured at the Kerry/Edwards rally in the Tampa Bay, FL area on July 7, 2004. There were over 10,000 supporters trying to get in, but only 2,000 had access due to fire safety restrictions. I was lucky enough to have media access since I was on assignment for the local press. These photos were captured with 2 Nikon D100's, no flash. I used the Nikkor 24-120mm AF-S VR lens on 1 cam and the magnificent 70-200mm f/2.8 AF-S VR on the other cam. We were very close to the stage, in the media pit. You could not believe the amount of heat coming from the stage lights.
It's very interesting how images of political figures spark such passion in people (I didn't get this many comments in the Bush gallery). I had to delete some of the more "passionate" comments since I don't want that kind of language on my site. Please feel free to comment in a civil manner :)
