Nice comparisons! The Tamron is a good lens, but I think the Nikon beats it here. The Nikon seems to have better colors and especially contrast (the 50mm shots make it really clear). The Tamron has an ugly wave distortion in the upper left corner. Both lenses have distortion in general, but the Tamron is worse.

If you can afford the Nikon, I'd stick with it. My budget is too tight for it so I've ordered the Tamron and have my fingers crossed.
