This was one of the "lava junkies" who helped us find some good flows to observe. Note that he often got much closer even than this... my favorite moment of talking to them was this conversation:

1st guy) "The lava cools pretty fast. You can walk on it just ten minutes after it's come through!"
2nd guy) "Well, maybe fifteen minutes..."
