Some highlights of the trip: Montana Vice. Caddis and PMD's. Dropping water levels (from about 10,000 cfs to about 7,200 cfs, or from 280 m3/s to 200 m3/s in Canadian terms) and happy fish. Early mornings (mostly); late nights. Highs in the 80's with a mix of sun and cloud. The wind behaves itself for the most part. Fireworks on the 4th of July. Microwaved pork rinds with Louisana sauce at 1:00 am in Joe's Bar after many Millers by the boys and a few scotch m'self. Stacy the barmaid and the beer-drinking dog. Drift boats everywhere, on the water and in town. Fish rising everywhere. "Easy" dry fly fishing (according to Frank, anyhow. Guess it's gotta be easier than dealing with size 24 pseudos in the fall). Apparently no small fish in the river? Leaky waders and lost anchor. Breakfast at The Frenchman's in Wolf Creek... the two-headed calf is still there. The generosity of Montana Jim. Inadvertantly rowing into Wade and Glen's pod of risers, oops! Sunset shadows on the banks of the Mo. Gotta love the serious trout culture --- three flyshops in Craig, Montana, population 40 (year round), with another flyshop in nearby Wolf Creek, pop. 39?! Good company, good times!
