I miss our island. My wife and I moved down here after Ivan, I was part of the rebuilding of Summerwinds. I fell in love with Navarre Beach. Living at Sunset Harbour with my wife was the best time of my life. I am deployed with the Military in Iraq now. I am drawing near to the end of my Military career. I am ready to go back to my island. Thanks for the pictures.

Does anyone have pictures of the large brick beach house with the brick fence around it at the end of Navarre Beach after hurricane Opal hit? It sit up high on a dune on the gulf. It was the last beach house going toward Pensacola Beach.

Kenny, Navarre is the prettiest place I've ever been. Very calm, and relaxing. I can pick a spot on the beach (further down between Navarre Beach/Pensacola Beach, when i'm there in March, and maybe 6 people a day will pass me. Secluded and very much enjoyed. Prettiest place on earth. Your pictures are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.

For about 20 years we vacationed at Destin. Two years ago a friend directed me to Kenny Wilder’s Navarre Beach Photography. His pictures convinced us to try staying at Navarre Beach. I’m glad we did. This summer will be our 3rd year at Navarre Beach. I purchased one of Kenny’s pictures this past year as a Christmas present for my husband. He loves it and so do I. Kenny, I have to say that I love coming to your website and looking at the photos, that are so vividly in my heart, that you have captured through lens. I first discovered Navarre in 2005 and try to come down every year. And when I can't, I look at your website. I practically grew up at the beach, only not Navarre, and as an adult want to give my children the memories that I still hold dear. Navarre is the best place for that. And I hope that my children will feel the same way when they themselves are adults. The beach, the sound of the gulls and surf are forever etched into my soul and I will always feel incomplete until I am there again. Thank you for sharing your beautiful photos and for letting me see the place that I should be calling home.

These beaches have haunted me since 1993 . The memories of great past and future times are with me year round .We do a guys only trip in May and a couples trip in Aug . The Holiday Inn was demolished during the summer of 2006 after being hit hard by Hurricane Ivan on September 16, 2004 and again by Hurricane Dennis on July 10, 2005.

I hate to be the one to break the news to you but the Holiday Inn has been completly demolished due to all the stornm damage during the past few years. First report was that they would rebuild but haven't seen anything on it lately and there is no activity on the now vacant lot.

My family and I have frequently visited Navarre Beach starting back in 1982. We have not been back since the Holiday Inn we always stayed out was once again closed I think due to 'Dennis'. Kenny, if you would, the next time you are walking the beach down by the area of the old 'Holidome' take a few pictures for me, for old times sake. Your pictures of Navarre are beautiful, I cant believe what all has happened since I was last there about five years ago. My family and I were able to see everything this past week when we went to Pensacola for the first time for my sisters graduation. Although Navarre is still a home away from home, unfortuantly our family condo is but a structure...you probably know which one I am talking about :) The pictures brings back fond memories and a better hurry up to move down there after college.

Cindy, I would suggest having the wedding under the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier. You could hang the flowers on the pilings. Also, you have plenty of parking behind the Pier in the County beach parking lot. You are only a few hundred feet from Cocodrie’s where you could all gather after the wedding. Cocodrie’s may be able to accommodate the weeding party in a private dining room.

If you come by my unit just outside the pool deck where we have the large pots of blue daze, I would be more than happy to show you the same blue heron that you are referring to in a framed 30”x40” print that hangs in our condo living area.

Some friends and I were staying at the Belle Mar and one day we see this bird land by the pool so we start taking pictures. And this man with and really nice camera and a big lens is doing the same. Well about a month ago i was searching for pictures of Navarre Beach on line and found yours, then i see the picture of the bird and the date on it was the same day we were there. So we were all excited that we were there at the same time to see you in action! We are on our way down there this weekend to stay another week! We are really excited maybe we will see you again, taking those beautiful pictures of Navarre Beach!

There's approximately 40 or so of us going. We've always stayed in Sugar Beach, the front units, which are gone now. This year we're staying in Summerwind-East Bldg. Kenny, the photos of Navarre are BEAUTIFUL!! We have been going to Navarre since 1994, have a ton of photos of the kids growing up at our favorite vacation spot on the beach, evacuated during Hurricane Erin, watched hopelessly from afar during Opal, and have been so sorry for what you all have endured during these past 3 hurricanes. We have had you all in our thoughts and prayers. Saw it last April and September and my heart broke. The photos are encouraging. Glad to see people there and hear that they are now blowing sand onto the beach. Hopefully we will be back in July. Haven't been since June 1994 and had an incredible time then. Navarre has given so much to us, we think it would be worth it to pump a little money back into the economy there. Thank-you again for the gorgeous photos. God bless you! Renee

Anne, It’s so nice to hear from you again. Navarre Beach has been absolutely beautiful since early October 2005, other than a few small storms that are expected. I sincerely hope that all of your relatives that were displaced from the New Orleans area caused by Hurricane Katrina are back to some kind of normalcy. Amazing photos! I remember taking the family to Navarre Beach several times in the 80's and early 90"s and enjoying the beach, which is now gone. I wondered how they faired in the storms, now I know. I still picture a sand dune between the beach homes and wide beach. We always stayed at the Holiday Inn on the beach side, which must also be gone. Nevarre Beach is a great area for family vacations, hopefully the beaches will come back. Thank you for sharing your photos. This brings back a lot of fond memories.
