Sutherland Clinic

Unused now for more than 50 years, the Sutherland Clinic was the first hospital in Northeast
Mississippi. It was located on the top floor of what is now Dickerson Furniture.
The building is still Booneville's tallest -- at least in floors. It has four.

Glenn, a "Heritage Day" is planned in Booneville for May 26, 2012, which includes tours of old downtown buildings. I believe this building is included, if you're still interested in seeing it. There will also be a cemetery tour featuring local amateur actors portraying prominent Booneville residents of the past.

What I would not have done to walk through this. I love old abandon medical offices/hospitals. Never knew it existed. When I worked at BMH as a teen ( I was later a nurse there after I graduated from NE) my boss the late Inez Moore, use to take me to the closed areas of the hosptial and show me around. I enjoyed this website a lot. Thanks for sharring.
