Pentax K10D - Pentax SMC-A 50mm 1.2 lens

Copenhagen, Denmark

My go to camera for CCD experiments during the last couple of days:

The Pentax K10D, launched in 2006, is a 10.2-megapixel DSLR (digital single-lens reflex) featuring a CCD sensor, weather-sealing to protect against dust and moisture, and a image stabilization system compatible with all K-mount lenses, of which I use the 77mm 1.8, the 2.8 macro, a Carl Zeiss 35mm /f2 distagon and, since last week, a vintage SMC-A 50mm 1.2 lens. All these lenses resolve on full-frame cameras, but work wonders, I think, on cropped sensor cameras as the 10D.

Cameras with CCD sensors went out of fashion in the year following such cameras as the K10D and its predecessors (istD, istD s, istD DL) from the Pentax family group of digital cameras.

The end of the line from other producers that come to mind are the Nikon D200 and the Nikon D80.

It offers customizable controls, a RAW image format option, and dual-dial operations for flexible shooting.

The K10D includes a 22-bit A/D converter, noise reduction that was second to none at the time of the cameras' release, and an 11-point autofocus system with nine cross-type sensors.

It provides in-camera lens correction and a pentaprism viewfinder, as one of the first entry-level DSLRs, with nearly 100% field coverage.

The K10D's lithium-ion battery powers extended sessions, and its SD/SDHC memory card compatibility supports ample image storage.

The photo was taken with another vintage camera, the Nikon D3, using a Carl Zeiss Milvus lens.

Nothing like shooting at f/1.2, I hope you can still use the lens.
