Powershot Pro1 - Postersize print

I wanted to test if the 8 megapixels of the new Canon Powershot Pro 1 are 'enough' for a postersize print. So I took one of the online posted samples of the Powershot Pro 1 (IMG_0227, available on the Canon website), cropped it to 3:2, enlarged it to 4428x2954 pixels using Stair Interpolation, applied some very light unsharp mask to compensate for the loss and sent it to a finisher for a 75x50 cm print (the largest format I'll ever need). On an outdoor shot or one taken with higher ISO I probably would have used NeatImage to reduce the noise but this pic didn't need that.

Although the print is at 150 dpi only, the print looks even better than I expected.
All details are there, great colours and the enlargements I did in Photoshop can hardly be noticed.
I am impressed. One thing is clear: 8 Megapixels can be enough for good quality poster-size prints.
Btw, my door photographed with a Fuji S304 (3800).

other sizes: small medium original auto
