♜Thank you for illuminating the oldest multi-purpose civil engineering project in the world. It gives many lessons for engineers, architects and city planners. Most important, it demonstrates how the world can benefit when war is turned into peace through international cooperation and expertise. It also shows how desertification can be reversed. Because of its importance, I decided to write an article with several collaborators to illustrate how its sustainable, clever and advanced features have transformed a historical site of ingenious planning and construction, into a living legacy for the entire world beyond a Unesco World Heritage Site. ☀
