six by nine

The photos on this page were made with a camera that produces large negatives. The camera is an Agfa Clack,
a simple box with two apertures. Originally the negatives were made on black white film and were
contact printed. If you look through your or your parents' old picture collection, I bet you will find some small prints
made with a camera that produced six by nine cm negatives.
Other cameras from the 1940's and 50's also made these negatives; my dad had a Kodak folding camera
that he used to make family photos. The contact print photos from these types of cameras are
2 1/4 by 3 1/4 inches in area.
