live bait. from the machine?

at the State Line Mini Mart in Marinette, WI

...while I was waiting for my son
at the mini mart I noticed this odd
machine that dispenses live bait..and
since I'm dead on my feet from standing
on a ladder painting the kitchen in my
Michigan house, I didn't have a look at
how the heck a person gets live bait from
the thing, or what kinds of bait it
dispenses...what a concept!!!!

That's exactly the same machine as the one I shot. I think it's minnows, worms, maybe grasshoppers. I'll stop and check one of these days.

I wonder what the choices are? And how they keep them alive. They must restock it everyday. And what if you get a dead one? Do you demand your money back?
