A series of events allowed us to travel to Ecuador for 25 days in October of 2007. What ensued was a fabulous naturalists adventure that took us to both the eastern and western slopes of the Andes and eventually far into the Ecuadorian Amazon in the lowlands of the east. The galleries here are separated into a few general trip destinations. We spent several days to a week at each area. All of the images in these galleries were taken with either the Nikon D70 or D200 six and ten megapixel DSLR cameras. Birds in these galleries were identified using Ridgely. Our apologies that the butterflies and skippers in this gallery are not all identified, but no comprehensive field guide for the butterflies and skippers of Ecuador had been published at the time of our trip. One is in the works, and once it is completed and becomes available, we look forward to going back through the galleries and providing identifications.
