The Ponta Negra runs along the edge of the Rio Negro. The Tropical Hotel is at the extreme right of the picture. I'm pretty certain we're looking East (towards downtown). My route to work most days takes me up the road past L'Oranghinas, (the club on the water in front of those tall Condos going up...I'm told that one can sometimes spot witches and trolls there after dark...and let's not forget the Boi Bumba, which near as I can figure is the Amazon version of "Romeo and Juliet"...but I digress), then I bang a left.
