This is up the street, looking down towards my apartment in the historic Hollywood Heights section
of Los Angeles, where many residences are only accessible by walkways and hidden stairwells (celeb
neighbours included Kurt Cobaine, Penny Marshall and Eva Longoria). We're the foothills that begin
directly behind the Chinese and Kodak Theatres on Hollywood Blvd., and our famous landmarks include
The Magic Castle, Yamashiro's Japanese restaurant, Frank Lloyd Wright's Freeman House (1923) and
the world-famous Hollywood Bowl outdoor concert venue, whose park entrance is two doors down from me.

The above link is to a page I'm most proud to share. I just spent three years as a volunteer and
part-time staff person for AFS - the same organization that sent me to France between junior/senior
year - and loved arranging these meetings for our students. I was able to get our students to
interact with the Consul Generals of Australia, Japan, Indonesia, Spain and New Zealand, Los
Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, the Los Angeles City Council and Ms. Billie Greer, Governor
Schwarzenneger's senior appointee for Southern California.
