Work in progess with 35mm slide scanning. Please view with this in mind. Images in this gallery are taken with a Nikon F100, various Nikon lenses and Fuji Velvia ISO 100 Professional slide film, developed by Fuji. Scanned initially with a Polaroid SprintScan 35, a 2700 dpi scanner using a flourescent tube and driven by VueScan software. This scanner is obsolete by today's standards of 4000 dpi but was the class leader in its day. The initial scans, relocated to a seperate folder, are quite poor with color shifts, tonal shifts (areas too dark or light) and focus issues. Subsequent improved scans are posted here.
The scans were again improved with an upgrade to a Nikon Super Coolscan 5000 ED. It is a current generation 4000 dpi scanner using LEDs, which provide a constant unchanging lightsource, unlike the fluorescene source in the Polaroid. The same slides were rescanned and placed imediately following the Polaroid scans.
