My how times have changed! When I was growing up, we had a Lindenwald Neighborhood branch of the local library - The Lane Library - a few blocks down the street from my house. It was in the basement of a very small, dated retail area in Lindenwald. If you didn't KNOW it was there, you would never find it!
From there, it moved to a small, but nicer building directly across the street from the first house we bought. My daughter grew up going to the library all the time for books and activities. Eventually, that facility too, got outgrown.
Unfortunately, in my opinion, that branch closed and they chose to build the new facility in Fairfield - a few miles down the road. They had a branch library also, close to the Fairfield City Building...so they closed the Lindenwald branch and the Fairfield smaller branch and opened this one large building. I just really liked the idea of a smaller branch that kids could walk to.
I do have to say that this branch has a great childrens' area and is a nice facility. I use it often, as my office is just around the corner.
