The eastern freeway heading into downtown San Francisco
This is a re-make of an image I shot on transparency back in 2002. Sunday morning. The first day of daylight savings time.
Back then - getting this shot with no traffic was easy. The economy was booming and people were sleeping in. Plus, many of the businesses you see in the foreground had yet to be built.
Most of what little traffic there was on that morning back in 2002 was over on 'the other' freeway.
Unlike that earlier effort - this image is not purely void of moving cars. There is the one car at the base of the on-ramp at right - and some southbound cars way off in the distance heading at us.
And I could hear the cars coming at me from behind - that burst onto the scene below my feet right after this exposure.
Still - a good capture on a beautiful morning.
