Located centrally in the San Spiert area of the village, the museum is based in the Chesa Delnon, a well-preserved stately Engadine house dating from 1716.The museum was founded by the Pontresina Mountain Guide Association, which, on the occasion of its 100th anniversary, decided to open an Alpine museum in Pontresina.
