Haarlem. Amsterdamse Poort

Former city gate "Amsterdamse Poort" (1355)
Solemn survivor of twelve medieval city gates surrounding Haarlem. Withstood the Spanish fury (1572~1573). Nowadays a useless passageway. A midnightly meeting place for teenage cokeheads on scooters, ready to submerge themselves in Haarlem nightlife. Also in use as an artist studio.
