Cáceres.Palacio Episcopal

A narrow street leads us to the St Mary's Square, leaving, on the left, the Gothic façade of the Bishop's Palace and, on the right, the courtyard's wall of the Palace of Mayoralgo.
This Palace is located in St Mary's Square, opposite the Cathedral. It was the residence of the Bishop of Coria. The oldest part of it dates from 13th century, the Gothic side from 15th century and the Renaissance façade from 16th century.
The main façade was performed in 1587 by the Bishop D. Pedro García de Galarza, according to its frieze's inscription. It has a high gate, fringed by a double arch with pulvinated (pillow-shaped) voussoirs, all framed by a Tuscan entablature which has, on the spandrels, two medallions with bust.

That coat-of-arm reminds me of the coat-of-arm I've seen on the cover of the coffin cover of several Cardinals of the catholic religion, the breaded lines on each side denoting their rank in the religion. But I may be entirely wrong!

Wow, that is one fancy door knocker. I assume that's a coat-of-arms. V
