Rothenburg ob der Tauber’s town hall (Rathaus) sits on the Market Place. It is actually two buildings of different times merged together – one a Gothic section and the other Renaissance. The former features a tower, whilst the latter features Baroque arcades. The two sections can clearly be seen when viewing the building in profile. It does not, however, detract from the splendour of the structure, which is in keeping with one of Germany’s finest medieval cities. The impressive Imperial Hall is often opened for concerts.
