Cihuri local history (and the signs of the place) suggest that this bridge was built no more and no less than in the second century, Roman rule in the middle of this area near the Ribera del Ebro. It has three "eyes" being the main course the middle, and stresses that the "eyes" side are not symmetrical, either in form or in size. Due to its age, during the Middle Ages was completely redone since late last century were made some improvements since 1979 was declared of historical interest. For a long time the bridge has been pedestrian access only, and another bridge was built more robust new just meters from the Roman Bridge, and is the new bridge that used to cross a road from the shore the meandering Rio Tiron, a tributary of the Ebro mighty bathing the beautiful town of Cihuri. The bridge is located on the outskirts of the village of Cihuri. In summer the Puente Romano and around becomes a leisure and recreational area for many vacationers, who do not hesitate to swim in the clear waters of the Tug River.
