View from The Castle of Clavijo
The Iregua Valley is proclaimed by some to be one of the most important winegrowing regions in the world. Natural characteristics of the valley influence the quality of the wines produced there. The valley floor is covered with fertile alluvial soils while rougher, stony soils are found on the gentle slopes that run along the sides of the valley. The soil combined with a mixture of Atlantic and Mediterranean climates results in ideal conditions for growing vines.
