The Column of Trajan is a memorial erected in Rome by order of Emperor Trajan . Located in the Forum of Trajan , near the Quirinal Hill , north of the Roman Forum . Completed in the year 114 , is a column of 30 meters (38 including the pedestal on which it rests) and commemorates Trajan's victories against the Dacians (people of Romania ).
