Today it's 30th anniversary of the declaration of martial law in Poland (in Polish "stan wojenny" which translates as "the state of war").
It was declared on the Polish television at 6 AM on December 13, 1981, by General of the Army - Wojciech Jaruzelski.
The martial law continued from December 13, 1981 to July 22, 1983. The authoritarian government of the People's Republic of Poland drastically restricted normal life by introducing martial law in an attempt to crush political opposition to it.
Thousands of opposition activists were interned without charge and as many as 100 people were killed.
The historical reconstruction "The Young Remember" was made to show to those, who are too young to remember, those days of resistance, hope and fight for free and independent Poland.
