20050414 Cowslips

I don't really understand flower photography! You see some attractive flowers, but most intended pictures just seem like snapshots. So it's back to the Macro lens - but then it's easy to lose the sense of scale and context. These cowslips are probably about 20cm tall, but even if the sense of scale is lost, I liked how the stems portray the cowslips' overall shape.

Any tips on flower photography gratefully received - there are so many great flower photographers on PBase after all!

I think you did really well and the macro lens is fun. I really like pbase for the variety of styles when it comes to floral shots (and everything else for that matter :o) )

Lovely, and you are right about the loss of scale in macro. I always enjoy these types of pictures...
