In my other life I am employed as a harbour pilot at the port of Lyttelton which is the port for Christchurch and surrounding area and the South Island's largest port. Small by world standards but big enough for me and with pleasant enough scenery around it as an extra. Sometimes I even get the opportunity to take a photo or two having used several digital cameras for this....a Nikon Coolpix 5000, then a Minolta A2 and latterly my Pentax *1st DS which is still small enough to carry with me without it becoming a burden.

Great set - the only thing missing is the odd Blue Star, Port Line or Federal vessel.

A cracking gallery. Lovely crisp shots and interesting, and occasionally comical comments. I love the "morning smoke" shot. Very unusual to see 'atmosphere' in New Zealand's clear air.
