St Cuthbert in Durham

Durham is the final resting place of St Cuthbert who was more famous for establishing the monastery on Lindisfarne.
This wooden statue is by the same artist (Fenwick Lawson) who made the bronze on Lindisfarne as posted by Sharon below.
Taken a few days ago, but I just noticed the connection.

Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi
1/15s f/5.6 at 30.0mm iso400 full exif

other sizes: small medium large auto

And never did I think 7 years after posting my comment that I would see both places....St Cuthbert's story is a touching one.
Thanks JJ

Excellent capture Johnny. Seems his face is quite a big proportion of his whole body and why the long face, I wonder...

This has a lovely ancient feel to it. Most unusual in wood.
