magnificent scenery,

Like this - excellent view point, quarries always interest me and this one has got a lot going for it, with island in the pond and spoil heaps. V

A great scene, excellent detail in the shady areas and lovely light where the sun is shining.

Fantastic landscape! Quite eerie (if that's how you spell it).

It looks to be reclaiming quite well.

Great scene with the light and shadows.

nature reclaiming the quarry has made a superb foreground for the composition and, for once, I am totally sold on the 17mm lens

you must have big moles down there!

I've never seen such a pretty quarry pond; but then, this is England! :)
I went scuba diving in a rock quarry pond in Pennsylvania ~ it was quite an ugly place....

Oooh - a tree-laden island - perfect for an adventure! :o)

grand overview of this rift in the dales...the few conical hills seem almost volcanic...tricky light very well handled...V

Looks like a landscape out of Tolkien. Love the way the hills turn ruddy in the autumn light.

Brilliant photo and a great sledging spot if we ever get any snow
