Twenty swan today

These Whooper swans must have stopped on the quarry pond for a rest on the way back to their breeding grounds in the Arctic
It was so cold this morning they didn't seem to want to go any further.

Tell them to stay a bit longer, the arctic is still rather frozen at -30 today.

They're getting acclimatized!

It's a bit cold in Weardale for those Arctic swans

an imposing flotilla...perhaps their GPS mis-directed them...looks like an Arctic wind to add to their confusion...V
