slow worm

This is what I know about slow worms
1. They are not worms
2. They are not snakes
3. They are legless lizards
4. They are surprisingly quick when an Ozzy accidentally stands on one.

NB. No slow worms or Ozzies were hurt making this picture

other sizes: small medium large auto

Eek! It's a snake!
Oh, I see...it's just a worm.
Darn...it's a lizzardy thing.
Well, it's a great shot anyway.

Brilliant find, I just can't imagine a cold blooded animal bothering to live in Weardale

I would immediately think "snake" and rush Ozzy to the vet ..... it looks just like a king brown which is deadly.
