Jack Vettriano came straight into my mind. I like the soft muted tonesand the excellent contrast of the beach scene and the industrial site.

Looking very grey there - like the white gulls against that grey sky.
I don't think I've ever been to Saltburn myself when it hasn't been grey... Funny.

Lovely image Johnny...definately looks wellie weather....BV

Looks really cold there.....

Nicely framed shot of the industrial redcar works.

Ah, Saltburn II - the Return! I hadn't noticed that not all the legs were braced!
Wellytastic :o)

Nice bit of depth to this composition.

has a very 'winter on the coast' feel to it... lots of melancholy. Nice.
Kevin Chester04-Nov-2009 21:32
It certainly shows its past and present life very well.

Excellent conflict shot.
Hey look...I can see work from here! isn't something you want to say on your holiday.
Mairéad04-Nov-2009 20:53
Nice framing of the industrial background - is it a quarry?
Doug Cruden04-Nov-2009 20:52
LOL@Laine! That's how we do it over here!! Especially in winter :o). Grand shot with the pier framing the industrialness of distant Redcar. Nicely done Johnny, really like those four in flight gulls, too!
Máire Uí Mhaicín04-Nov-2009 20:45
Is Redcar the place in the distance? It looks quite industrialised. The foreground and the bridge look very attractive here, especially in contrast to the background towers and cranes or derricks or whatever they are.

Don't think I've ever seen anyone on the beach in gumboots/wellies :))
