The "Palace of Love and Hope" was the affectionate name given to Maruekatayawan Palace, one of the oldest royal palaces in Thailand. Located on Chao Samran Beach just north of Hua Hin, it was designed in 1923 by King Vajiravudh (Rama 6) as his summer residence. The king came for his first stay in 1924. His second and last stay was the following year, only a few months before his death.
