The Cheesewring with its fantastic eroded granite rocks and The ancient Bronze Age stone circles
"The Hurlers" at Minions on the edge of Bodmin Moor are a great place to visit. If you're the kind
of person who likes Brimham Rocks near Harrogate in N. Yorkshire, you'll just love it here.
Another place down here to find rocks like this is Great Staple Tor near Tavistock.
(OS Landranger 201. 257 724.) How to get there:*
From the North take the road from Launceston to South Petherwin, Middlewood and Upton Cross,
where you turn right to Minions. Carry on through the village just past the inn and the cafe until
you reach the car park for the Hurlers. From there it is about 1.5 miles (2-3 km) walk to the
Cheesewring which is on the edge of the tor that you can see in the near distance up past the stone circles.
If you don't want to walk up over the moor past the Hurlers then you can walk up the
stone lane at the other side of the village.
(*From the South drive in from Callington or Liskeard via Pensilva
and then to Upton Cross and Minions).
