Many of us who live near the moor are so familiar with the way in which it dominates the landscape
that we seldom stop to appreciate how striking it can be. There are special times like this when low-angled
autumnal light paints cloud shadows along the contours of the Western edge of Dartmoor.
This telephoto shot was taken from Castle Cross on the main road between
Okehampton and Halwill Junction.
