1940: the II company of the 2nd Régiment d'Artillerie de Montagne passed this way.
Other companies of the same regiment were thrown in against the Blitzkrieg and were destroyed. The II company managed to withdraw to Troyes in good order.
The 2nd RAM was one of the oldest in the French army, having been formed in 1720.
