Ginny's dad has lived on a farm all his life. He knows about food. Not that haute cuisine french foo foo bullsh&t, but real honest to God American vittles. Damn. Anyway, one thing we like to bring home is home made sausage from the Evers' farm over there in Verboort. Gene Evers made a batch recently (400 pounds, a small one) during the summer, which is unusual. Anyway, we ended up with 25 pounds of the stuff (nicely smoked). Ginny's dad vacuum packs them for the freezer. We will be taking home ten pounds of it. Just in time, since we (that would be Ginny) finished the last of it we had in Houston.
