Ginny and I went shopping to get ready for the party on Sunday for Robert and Laura. We went to Specs and Kroger. While at Specs, we ran into an old friend of ours from Church. Ginny, being quite female, struck up a conversation with this person, also female. It started out with the usual pleasantries but quickly degenerated into a slugfest of what the children are doing and retirement and all that female fodder. I of course, wasn't going to stand there and listen. You have to remember that when two females are in conversation, males are part of the conversation only on a technicality since they aren't allowed to speak. So I figured that I might as well start looking around the liquor store. Then I had a brain storm! I picked up an extra six pack of beer and put it in the cart. Then I headed over to the scotch aisle and nabbed a bottle of Johnny Walker (giant economy size) and put it into the cart. Then it was over to the gin shelves for a big bottle of Bombay Saphire. I quietly put it in the cart, whereupon Ginny said to her friend "I think I need to get going before we go broke." Perfect! I have to remember that trick.
I like wine in a box because of the engineering aspects. Namely, cubic containers are more efficient than bottles for storage purposes. And as Exzim said (translating from English) cheap and good.
