Project Day 71 - Exile Day 21 - The installation of the cabinets continued today. There were a couple of design changes that Ginny was not expecting. When she encounters an unexpected event, she reacts very strongly. The issue is not that the event is good or bad, it is that the event represents a departure from her expectations. And so today she noticed that all the ends of the toe kicks have these diagonal pieces inserted. The alternative would be a right angle turn. That is what you see most often. So I, the one with no taste at all, thought that it made the installation look much more finished. It might even add a touch of (dare I say it) drama. Ginny wasn't sure so she sent off the photos of the diagonals to, you guessed it, Melinda the designer. She liked them. She thought they were fabulous. Since Melinda said so, Ginny agreed that they were nice. So this makes the second time in the whole project that I got something right. Remember my victory with the kitchen ceiling was the first one.
