Project Day 67 - Exile Day 17 - Nothing going on at the house today. Ginny spent quite a while going around to supply houses to look for some special tile she needs to complete the installation of two new sliding glass doors. They replaced the 40 year old ones which were aluminum. The door panels are double pane with the blinds between the panes. Very cool. I spent the day going through memorabilia from the family trove my mother collected. It takes a lot of sorting. Not many photos in the batch, but I will scan some newspaper articles and photos to make sure they get preserved.

For entertainment today we attended an evening bash which was a shower for couples. Our friend Kate Buras is getting married the first week of May in New Orleans where she and her fiance live. That will be a great time. Both her parents are natives so that means appropriately staged parties. Kate is one of the "Cry Room Gang." It was a group of families that met in the cry room at St. Bernadette when they had a 7:00 am mass. The cry room is long gone, but the group of four families has stayed close over the years. Having a friendship that has lasted 35 years is a blessing. So, I can say with certainty that the first time we met Kate was the Sunday after she was born.
