We had to drive all the way back to Houston today because we have lots of stuff to do before we head off to Alaska on Thursday. Fortunately, it was a beautiful day and all the traffic jams were on the other side. For us, this was a relatively short trip; although today was one of the longer days we have had. Our last leg was from Crowley, Louisiana. Once you are inside Texas, the interstate speed goes up to 75 mph. I like going fast when there isn't much to be seen. We spent just over 13 hours on the drive of 810 miles from Alpharetta. Our daughter in law Laura said we should be on the road before 6:30, and we heeded her advice. She battles the traffic every day on her way to work, so she really knows her stuff. We were happy to get back home. Now it is time to pull all our stuff together for our Alaska adventure. I am very excited about that. Film at 11. |
